We all wonder what the websites of the future will look like. Since the internet went mainstream in the 1990s, websites have come a long, long way.
The market is constantly looking for newer solutions that will more effectively sell a given product or service. But we must never lose track of what is most important — user experience, or UX for short.
The user experience focuses precisely on the users of your product and their needs. A well-designed website is attractive, functional, intuitive and fast. All these things combined will ensure a positive UX.
Here are some things to focus on when designing your site or looking for someone to partner with in a new website.
Be precise. These days, people using your website and online content want an enjoyable experience free from hassle. The website must be built precisely, adjusting to many devices including phones and tablets. Also the information on the website must be easy to find and clear, so that potential customers do not have to search for things for too long.
Understand your user. The first of Google’s 10 design principles is, “Focus on the user and all else will follow.” When designing a good website, focus on the user. What will their expectations and needs be? “Our homepage interface is clear and simple, and pages load instantly. Placement in search results is never sold to anyone, and advertising is not only clearly marked as such, it offers relevant content and is not distracting. And when we build new tools and applications, we believe they should work so well you don’t have to consider how they might have been designed differently,” Google says. That’s good advice for everyone to follow.
Make it easy. Do not overwhelm the user with unnecessary information. How the user feels when using your website determines how they feel about you. Having the best products or services at the best price or the highest quality will not guarantee your success. A poorly designed website may scare potential customers away.
Potential clients use a lot of websites every day. If you want to get their attention, make sure they feel good about your site. Focusing on UX will help you stand out from the competition
